Welcome to the Chelmsford & District Branch of the Cats Protection Our
branch was founded in 1963 and helps over 1000 cats and kittens every
year. We cover an area within a 10-15 mile radius of Chelmsford. The
Adoption Centre opens to the public every day from 11am to 3pm
and we have around 50 cats in our care at any one time The
branch is able to exist due to the dedication and support of our
volunteers who work tirelessly to implement the basic aims of the Cats
Protection in our area. You may be thinking I would love to help but I work full time
or I have busy life style that does not give me the time. However most of our volunteers and
supporters lead busy lives but the wonderful thing about being involved in a charity such
as ours is that there are numerous ways in which you can help, some of
which involve very little time. So if you are interested in cats, please
